Christensen Signs New Chelsea Deal  (Sky Sports)

Andreas ChristensenChelsea defender Andreas Christensen has signed a new four-and-a-half-year contract.

The 21-year-old Denmark international has been rewarded with a new long-term deal until 2022 after breaking into Antonio Conte's first team at Stamford Bridge this season.

Christensen, who joined the club as a 15-year-old in 2012, has made 22 appearances so far for Chelsea.

"It feels really good to sign a new contract," Christensen told the club's website. "I'm just happy to be committed to Chelsea for the future.

"I've played a lot of games, I'm enjoying it at the club and everything is working well."

Christensen helped Chelsea lift the FA Youth Cup and U21 Premier League title in 2014 and won the UEFA Youth League in 2015.

The defender, who has 13 caps for Denmark, helped his nation qualify for this year's World Cup, scoring his first international goal in the 5-1 play-off win over the Republic of Ireland in November.

Chelsea's club director Marina Granovskaia added: "This contract is a reward for the excellent form Andreas has shown in the first half of the season.

"He showed immense potential when he signed for Chelsea in 2012 and is now enjoying the benefits of the dedication and professionalism he has shown since."
