'Real Can Afford £100m Hazard'   (Sky Sports)

Eden HazardReal Madrid would not have a problem spending £100m on Chelsea's Eden Hazard if he decided he wanted to move to Spain, according to former president Ramon Calderon.

The Spanish giants want to sign Hazard, according to Sky sources, but talks between the clubs have not taken place and the forward is under contract until June 2020.

A report in Spanish newspaper Marca on Tuesday morning claimed Chelsea would be willing to sell the forward to Real. The Blues do not comment on what they regard as media speculation and rumour and declined to offer a response to that report.

However, Calderon claims any potential move would depend on the wishes of the Belgian and says the Champions League holders are capable of offering a potential world-record fee to the Stamford Bridge side for the 26-year-old.

"Chelsea aren't a selling club, so it wouldn't be easy, but, as always, it would depend on the wishes of the player. If he wants to leave, he will leave - that's always the point," Calderon told TalkSPORT.

"It's all about the player. The player must say, 'I want to leave and go to Real Madrid', and that will be the moment they start negotiating.

"Chelsea will ask for a lot of money, I think that's what the situation will be at the end of the season. Chelsea knows quite well how much has been paid in the market over the last few years, with [Cristiano] Ronaldo, [Gareth] Bale and [Paul] Pogba - £100m is now the bar.

"That bar has been set by those transfers, so I think that's how much a club like Chelsea would be asking for and the economy at Real Madrid is healthy - I don't think that would be a problem for them."

Hazard, who joined Chelsea from Lille in 2012, has been rejuvenated under Antonio Conte this season and has played a pivotal role as the Blues have opened up a 10-point lead at the top of the Premier League with 10 games to go.
