Chelsea
forward Diego Costa says his recent three-match suspension for violent
conduct was undeserved and that he is on the end of plenty of rough
treatment himself.
Costa implied that some of his fellow Premier League players are prone to
making a meal of any physical contact.
The 27-year-old told
The Sun: "Many times players have done stuff
to me, like kick me. But I am not a cry baby.
I have done nothing wrong. Some things you just cannot change. You cannot do
anything about it. As a player, you have to accept them whether you think it
is fair or not.
"I will not change unless my manager or the people from my club or my
supporters tell me."
Costa was handed his three-match ban after video footage was examined of his
clash with Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny, but said: "I have done
nothing wrong. Some things you just cannot change. You cannot do anything
about it.
"As a player, you have to accept them whether you think it is fair or not.
The Chelsea supporters saw that was unfair and so they, the manager and the
club have given me a lot of support."
Chelsea visit West Ham on Saturday and are looking to climb the table after
a stuttering start to the defence of their Premier League title.
The Blues are 12th in the table, having won just three of their first nine
games, but Costa was back and on the scoresheet for last week's 2-0 defeat
of Aston Villa.
"No players likes to be sitting out watching from the stands, even more when
it is not because of injury or anything like that," Costa added.
"We know we can turn this around because it is the beginning of the season
and we also know we are the only ones who can turn this around.
"We are alone on this because Chelsea, it is a club that the supporters give
100 per cent support to but nobody else likes them. I am just beginning to
understand this."
