Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink says that he would love to recruit Didier
Drogba to the club's backroom staff.
Drogba was at Stamford Bridge and sat alongside Hiddink on Saturday as
Chelsea returned to winning ways with victory over Sunderland.
Speculation had increased that the Ivorian could join the coaching staff
under Hiddink, following two illustrious playing spells with the Blues.
However with another season remaining on his playing contract with Montreal
Impact in the MLS, the Stamford Bridge hierarchy have stressed that such a
scenario is currently out of the question.
Hiddink, whose appointment for a second spell as manager was confirmed on
Saturday just before kick-off, believes the club need more people with his
'heart' as they rebuild following a poor start to the season and the
departure of Jose Mourinho.
"We would like to get him involved," Hiddink told Fox Sports of Drogba.
"But he still has a contract with Montreal in the MLS, even though it is the
close season for them now. We want to get important players involved with
the club they care about. Drogba's heart is with Chelsea."
Drogba won four Premier League titles, four FA Cups, three League Cups and
scored the winning penalty in the 2012 Champions League final in two trophy
laden spells in west London.
