Azpilicueta is backing new Chelsea signing Pedro to take the Premier League
by storm.
The winger took little time to settle in to life in England with a goal and
an assist in the 3-2 win over West Brom on Sunday.
His impressive performance came after only a couple of training sessions
since his midweek move from Barcelona, and Spain team-mate Azpilicueta says
there is plenty more to come from the 28-year-old.
Azpilicueta said: "He has trained for one week, he played his first game, he
is discovering the Premier League and I'm sure he will get better.
"I know him very well and he fits into the team very well. I know his
ambition, he is hungry to help the team, win trophies and I know the way he
started the first game is amazing.
"I know from the national team he is a top player. He played for Barcelona
for so many years and he fits into our team and the Premier League."
Azpilicueta was also among the scorers at The Hawthorns, breaking his
Premier League duck, and feels he is thriving thanks to the competition
within Jose Mourinho's squad.
As well as Pedro, Mourinho brought in left-back Baba Rahman from Augsburg
earlier this month, making Azpilicueta more focused on keeping his place in
the side.
"They are two good additions to the squad, it helps everybody to have
competition," he said.
"We know in football there's nothing in the past, you have to prove
(yourself) every day. We won the league last year but we have to show in
every game and training we are ready.
"I am confident to keep working, keep doing my job. I know the competition
is good for the team and I had a few great players around me. At the end,
hopefully the team will be better."
