Henry: Pedro A Perfect Pro  (Sky Sports)

Pedro and Thierry HenryThierry Henry has described Pedro as the "perfect team-mate and perfect professional", as the Barcelona forward nears a move to Chelsea.

The winger has flown into London to conclude a deal worth £21.1m with Chelsea after a summer of speculation that he would be joining the Premier League with Manchester United.

And Sky Sports pundit Henry, who played with Pedro at Barcelona between 2008 and 2010, did not hold back in singing the 28-year-old's praises.

He said: "The perfect team-mate, the perfect professional - he is that guy.

"He pressures from the front, but he's also the player that any manager would love to have. You know what you're going to get with Pedro, always 100 per cent.

"The way he plays, the way he trains, he doesn't talk, he doesn't create any problem for you, he's a team player who had exactly what you would love to have as a team-mate, as a player, or if you're the boss."

Pedro has been at Barcelona since 2004, making his first-team debut in 2008 and playing 318 games since.

He has scored 98 goals in that time, including one against Manchester United in the 2011 Champions League final, and has 51 caps for Spain.

But despite spending his entire career in Catalonia, Henry believes Pedro's transition into English football will be seamless.

He said: "He came into training, and because he went through the youth system at Barcelona he knows that system inside out.

"But he can adapt to the English system, he won't have to learn, he will understand staying wide, putting pressure and all that type of thing from the front and the first time I saw him he was already on point.

"He knows the system so he looked like he was playing for us forever when he first played.

"I think he can be a success. It depends on how the team is going to gel, and how he has to adapt to the Premier League. But he is definitely a great team-mate to have, he's won everything in the game."
