Falcao has revealed he would like to play in Major League Soccer but is
unsure about where he will be next season after his loan spell with Chelsea
expires.
The 30-year-old Colombia international striker joined the Blues on a
season-long loan from Monaco last July following an injury-hit loan spell
with Manchester United last season.
However, he has started just two games for Chelsea this term and looks set
to return to Monaco, where he is contracted until 2018, this summer when he
will assess his future.
"I don't know. I am not thinking about next season," Falcao told NBC's
ProSoccerTalk. "When the season is finished I start to think about that
but I don't know, we have four more games left. I would like to play more
minutes.
"The experience [in England] has been a little bit tough. It has not been
easy because I couldn't play constantly like I wanted to.
"I will still fight for an opportunity to play and I am waiting for that.
These last couple of years have allowed me to be better in another ways. I
am happy for that."
One option for Falcao is a move to the United States - he has been linked
with Columbus Crew - and he admits he is interested in MLS.
"I follow the league," he said. "In England they are showing the games and I
have some friends who play in it who I played with in River Plate or Porto
like [Federico] Higuain or [Diego] Valeri.
"Some other Colombian players are playing in Major League Soccer and
obviously the big stars like Andrea Pirlo, Kaka and Giovani dos Santos. I
think MLS could be bigger than now because they have everything they need to
become an even stronger league and become even more competitive."
Despite his praise for MLS, Falcao has suggested he is likely to remain in
European football for the time being.
"I never say no but in this moment I am thinking about Europe and my
performances here," he said. "I think I have more years to fight in these
leagues."
As for his summer plans, Falcao has claimed he wants to play for Colombia in
both the Copa America and the Olympics in Brazil, where he could feature as
one of three over-aged players in the squad.
"Yes, I said before I would like to be part of the Olympics games but it
doesn't depend only on me," said the Colombia captain.
