Former
Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari says nothing will have prepared Antonio
Conte for the Stamford Bridge job.
The ex-Juventus manager will leave his post in charge of the Italian
national team after Euro 2016 and move to Chelsea on a three-year contract.
Conte will become Roman Abramovich's 10th manager at the club and one of his
predecessors has given him a warning that he will have to be an immediate
success at a club with one of the highest expectation levels in world
football.
"You can win the World Cup, be European champion and the best coach on the
planet - but that cannot prepare anyone for a job like Chelsea," Scolari,
who is currently managing Guangzhou Evergrande in the Chinese Super League,
told The Sun.
"Your coaching record does not count once you're there because you must win
things straight away.
"It's like very few positions in the world because the Premier League is
like no other league in the world. Plus it's Chelsea, where the expectations
are higher than most clubs in the world."
Scolari also believes that the only guarantee for any manager who moves to
Chelsea is that eventually they will be sacked.
"One thing is certain in football, especially at a club like that, you will
lose your job at some point," he said.
"When you see such a successful and smart coach as [Jose] Mourinho lose his
job, you can understand how difficult it is."
