Chelsea
manager Jose Mourinho insisted that his side were deserved winners over QPR
– but accepted that the performance fell below the standards that he
demands.
Goals from Oscar and Eden Hazard gave the hosts a hard-fought 2-1 win and
maintained their 100% home record this season.
"It was a completely deserved victory, but not a good performance," said
Mourinho. "We had good periods, and some moments of good reaction to
negative periods, but I didn't think we played our complete game as we
normally do.
"We deserved to win because we had lots of chances and Eden Hazard was a
player who gave a fantastic performance, but in reality they were a team who
had great defensive organisation.
"They made it very difficult for us but we have to play better. They changed
their system and defended well. We couldn't score the third goal to win the
game and that kept them in it too long.
"Harry (Redknapp) has a lot of experience and tried to close every way to
the goal but I think if we play better, if you play consecutively well I
think you win the game with different numbers but we had a fantastic
reaction after they equalised.
"Rob Green kept them in the game because we had two or three very good
chances to score the third goal and kill the game and I think Green kept
them in the game until the final whistle."
