Monaco
striker Radamel Falcao is speaking to Chelsea about a possible transfer, Sky
sources understand.
The Premier League champions are one of several clubs that Falcao is talking
to as he looks to revive his career following a poor season on loan at
Manchester United.
The Colombia striker struggled during his season on loan at Old Trafford,
finding the net just four times in 29 games before United boss Louis van
Gaal released the 29-year-old after deciding not to take up the option on a
permanent deal believed to be worth £44m.
Falcao, who has the same agent as Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, could be a
replacement for veteran striker Didier Drogba who will leave the Premier
League champions in the summer.
Mourinho has already said he expects to make two or three signings during
the summer but the only stumbling block to Falcao's arrival at Stamford
Bridge could be his wages, which weigh in at more than £250,000 per week.
