Chelsea
have announced a series of high-profile friendlies in the USA over the
summer as part of the International Champions Cup.
Jose Mourinho's side will face New York Red Bulls in New Jersey on July 22,
before travelling to Charlotte three days later to take on Paris
Saint-Germain in the 74,000-capacity Bank of America Stadium, home of the
NFL's Carolina Panthers.
Barcelona will be the final test on the Blues’ trip to North America when
they meet at the FedEx Field in Washington DC on July 28.
Chelsea will then return to Stamford Bridge to face Fiorentina on August 5,
three days before the scheduled start of the new Premier League season.
"I'm pleased we are able to announce our fixtures for what promises to be an
exciting summer," Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck told the club’s official
website.
"As promised, we face some excellent opposition across several iconic venues
in the United States and to top it off we are delighted to be hosting
Fiorentina at Stamford Bridge in front of our loyal fans.
"The tour allows us to prepare fully for the 2015/16 campaign, and I am also
pleased to confirm we will be continuing the important work of the Chelsea
Foundation during the trip."
